A Touch Of Pink

Pink Isn't just a colour its an attitude....
To wear something like this you are going to need it!
This is a little outfit I put together for a night out with the ladies. Pairing a statement piece such as this lovely dusty rose fur jacket together with very muted under tones is just the thing to do. These black jeans with a subtle ripped knee and a black turtle neck, which may I add is so on trend this season and is the perfect way to balance it all out. Pair it with a cute nude lip, simple clutch, your favourite black pumps and a few luxurious sprays of perfume.... I recommend "coco mademoiselle" and you are ready for a night of fun.

What's in my bag? - Fall Edition

What's in my bag? Sometimes I ask myself that question too, cause my bag tends to get very heavy at times. I have a habit of throwing everything in my hand, right inside my bag (even the unnecessary), so I always try to pay more attention to the size of things I put in it. Which is why I like to carry things in travel size....I know my perfume bottle isn't so travel size, neither is my phone case, but, this is the CURRENT look of what's in my bag..and proof that I forget many things I try to tell myself.

What's in my bag this fall?
My iPhone featuring my favourite teddybear Moschino case
My Louis Vuitton wallet - which is in need of a change soon
Victoria's Secret (travel size) makeup bag full of my carry on goodies you will see below
Dior compact powder, which doesn't fit in my travel size makeup bag
One of my favourite scents; Gucci Flora
Victoria's Secret Ultimate hand cream (acai cotton moisture complex)
Lip gear; Dior addict lip glow and Nivea lip butter
Burberry Eyeglasses
Celine Shades
And last but not least, my never-ending Starbucks peppermint

BUT as you all can see below, my makeup is travel size =)
Lets get down to detail here..

Whats in my makeup bag?
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes - its a perfect shade for anytime anywhere and one of the shades that is trending this fall
Clarins Instant Concealer in 02 (its a full size product but a very portable)
Dior Compact Powder in 021
Dior Nude Shimmer Illuminating Powder in Amber 002
(and of course my little kabuki brush)
Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara (travel size)
Dior Addict Lip Glow in Pink
Nivea lip butter
And...you're probably wondering that that little container to the left is..that's my portable foundation!
I pump a little bit for on-the-go touch ups. I got that cute little container at Sephora. You can head to your local Sephora and ask for a sample container, and they will give you these little cuties that you can make other uses for just like I did. And sometimes, I use an empty contact lens case. It has double the advantage if you blend more than one shade.

Eyewear:
Burberry Eyeglasses ... I am pretty blind so I carry these around in case of any accidents that may happen with my contact lenses
Celine Shades - I really like how dark these are, perfect for the season and ....(perfect for spying around underneath)

My FAV Soft Matte Lip Creams by NYX

Having a lipstick addiction, its usually hard to pick which lipstick and which brand I adore the most. But I can definitely tell you guys which are my most used and go-to's. NYX soft matte lip creams of course! They have the perfect amount of pigmentation, perfect texture and the right amount of 'matte-ness'

I feel like with matte lipsticks, some brands go too dry just to have a 'matte' look, especially with liquid line of lipsticks. Which is why I adore this line that much more. I love a matte look but I don't want to look like my lips are dying from thirst.

These four beauties are my favourites of the bunch.
Cannes, Stockholm, London & Istanbul.

They are pretty much all hues of nudes. They also blend smoothly with eachother so its easy to create different shades. For example I like layering london and cannes together to create a shade closer to cinnamon.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette By Mario

I was so excited when I received this palette!! This is a special-edition palette created with celebrity makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. Its said to be the most highly anticipated makeup palette of the year. I heard that it set records for how fast it was sold out when it came out! Although, that doesn't necessarily mean its a good palette...I still had to get my hands on it. AND yes! It deserves that 5 star rating and all the hype about it! Its full of perfect shades for fall. It has 12 neutral and jewel-toned shades in matte and metallic finishes.

(using 5th ave, hollywood, isabel and kim)
Its highly pigmented and has perfect tones and shades that can blend for a soft daily look or a dramatic look for a night out.

Eye shadows included:
Hollywood (metallic wheat gold with a satin finish)
NYC (rich chocolate brown with a satin finish)
Kim (tan with a satin finish)
Muse (rose gold with a satin finish)
Marina (champagne with a metallic finish)
Claudia (slate with a velvet finish)
Lula (soft taupe with an ultra-matte finish)
Isabel (burnt orange with an ultra-matte finish)
Violeta (dark chocolate with an ultra-matte finish)
5th Ave (gold leaf with a metallic finish)
Bronx (metallic olive with a satin finish)
Paris (gilded brown with a satin finish)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit - Sun Dipped

Time to glow now that my new favourite glow kit is here! I feel like sun dipped has always been the un-chosen one out of all the kits. Including me, it was the last one on my mind to have. I take back all the times I spoke so mean of it, because its gorgeous! It actually is a very universal kit and I have started to use it almost everyday.

This kit comes in Bronzed, Summer, Tourmaline & Moonstone

Bronzed is a beautiful metallic copper
Summer is the perfect highlighter for the typical golden glow (the everyday glow)
Tourmaline is almost like a copper meets rose gold
Moonstone is a peachy-pink shade

It has a combination of gold, peach, pink and copper.
What more can we ask for in a glow kit?

Swatches below

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated - (Not So) Luminous

I'm only writing this review because I don't want anyone else, like me, to be fooled by how gorgeous this "highlighter" looks. First of all, its not a highlighter. Its a "SHIMMERING face & body powder" but categorised under highlighters. All it does it glitter your face in patches. You have to scratch your way into the product to even get anything on your brush. It has no pigment, its sparkles. Lots & lots of sparkles. (Which also fall off within few hours of putting it on.) I wish I paid more attention to the reviews before buying this. But I like to give a chance to the products that catch my attention. Even if sometimes they turn out a disappointment just like this one.

as you can see its just beautiful sparkles
(keep in mind that I had to rub at least a good 20 times to even get this much product on for a swatch)

If you are looking for a piece to decorate your table, you wont go wrong with this product. Just don't expect it to do wonders. I figured the best way to use this product was just to lightly powder it over my actual highlighters to create a sparkly look on days that I want to feel like a sparkling princess :)

here is what it looked like when first received
here is what it looks like right now, scratched up and patchy, just to at least get something on my brush

Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain & Heart Of Light Powder Blush

Yves Saint Laurent - Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain

I have to confess, I bought this because it looked so pretty. I did not spend much time on trying to look at the shades they have and just kind of chose the shade that looked prettiest. I got it in color 19 Beige Aquarelle. Its a very light nudey pink. Its nice and creamy, for a gloss. Its not sticky! It feels so smooth and just leaves a nice softness on your lips as it dries.

It could smell a lot better though....

Yves Saint Laurent - BLUSH VOLUPTÈ - Heart Of Light Powder Blush

OKAAYYYY....I was not aware of how much I'd be in love with this till I got it. I had such hard time trying to pick a shade that I almost gave up. Thank God I didn't. I am so happy with this blush I cannot put it into words. The smell, the texture, the look! YOU NEED THIS! Trust me.

I got mine in shade Light 5. Its a bright yet muted pink.

Tom Ford Moisturecore Lip Color

Tommm Forddddd....you killed my budget with the price tag on this one but I could not help myself. I originally saw the ad for this and right away fell in love with the look. It was exactly what I needed for my bronze makeup collection.

I had a hard time trying to find what color the model was wearing in the ad/video. I WOULD HAVE APPRECIATED IF THEY PUT A COMMENT, EVEN IN TINY PRINTS AT THE BOTTOM, SAYING MODEL IN PICTURE WEARING SHADE (SHADE NAME). Seriously though, I spent days trying to figure it out. It is shade Cala Di Volpe. Your welcome Tom Ford for helping you out here :)

As for the lip stick, its delicious and moist and gives the perfect glow on your lips. The color on the stick looks darker than it applies. It is bronze with a bit of a rosey tone (on my lips). Most lipstick shades can have a different look on different under toned lips. For some reason, as bronze as this lipstick is, it still has a tint of rose for me.

Solotica Natural Colors Quartz (Quartzo)

There is a lot of hype about Solotica contact lenses so I caved in and got a pair for my own. I have been using contacts for literally half my lifetime as I am pretty blind :)

I heard they were very natural looking and did a lot of research on it before purchasing. These contacts are not sold in Canada or US so I had to do some hardcore digging to find a trusted website to order from.

There was about 3 websites you can buy these contacts from that ship international:
wrlens.com/
paranalentes.com/
luxelenses.com/

I researched them all before buying because if I'm paying over $100 US, I better receive the product!
There was so many bad reviews on wrlens and paranalentes. Although there was a few youtube videos of people who received from them (most said they received it damaged), I just still wasn't satisfied. Also, my eyes require prescription lenses so it was even harder for me as wrlens doesn't even do prescription Solotica's .

I then came across luxelenses. I purchased my pair from this website as it looked the safest. It looked like everything about them was positive according to their instagram feed. This place is Dubai based but gives you 1-3 day fedex shipping!! Unlike the other websites who have you waiting for months!
My contacts came within 3 days exact. I was very satisfied with them. The packaging was safely wrapped and a pretty huge box for extra precautions.

When it came down to pricing, it was all around the same price on all sites. Except, I had to pay a bit more because mine are prescription lenses. Non-prescription lenses on this site are $114 CAD and prescription lenses are $131 CAD plus shipping $39 CAD ( I know its a lot for shipping, but if you're paying over $100 and from a website who wont give you a tracking number..you're better off with paying a little bit more and guaranteeing what you're buying)

I got mine in the color Quartz (Quartzo). Its a blueish green. Solotica's come in 3 different types.
1. Solotica Hidrocor - doesn't have a limbal ring
2. Solotica Natural Colors - have a slight limbal ring on the outside of the lens
3. Solotica Hidrocharme - have a defined limbal ring and are a stronger look

I got mine in Natural Colors because I do like the look with the limbal ring more, but not as strong as they are on the Hidrocharme's.

Here is a closer look

Overall I am satisfied with these contacts. When I first tried them on I was on the edge because it was such a dramatic change as my natural eyes are a dark brown. After a few days I got used to it and have been getting a lot of compliments on how natural it looks.

Chanel Les Beiges - Healthy Glow Foundation No.40

I was so excited to get this as its Chanel's new line of foundation. I am so in-love with this. Almost as much as my Dior usuals. It gives you a high coverage finish without looking cakey. It lasts all day long even on my oily skin. Its perfect for summer. I love matte finishes but I also like a healthy glow and this is the perfect combination. This line might become an addition to my usuals. I got this in shade No.40. I got this darker than my skin tone as I like to mix foundation to get the perfect hues for any season. Also, I wanted to try mixing this with my Diorskin Forever shade 20. (Which is what I have been using lately and I love it). Even though its high coverage, it still looks like your skin and gives a natural glow.

Dior Diorskin Forever Flawless Light Beige 020 & Medium Beige 030

These are my favourite foundations. I will always keep stock on these. This line by Dior is the best amongst their foundations. I use this in 2 shades because I like to blend. Its always best to keep both light and dark shades for your skin tone so you can blend as the seasons change.
